Hoops Auction
A free basketball auction game, played in the browser with no sign-up. Every player in the sport comes out one lot at a time and you never know who is next. Five slots, a hundred million, ten lots — bid well, because the roster you buy is the roster that plays.
How a game works
- Ten lots come up. You each end up with five players and a hundred million to spend.
- Whoever calls the lot picks the position; the room picks which player walks out.
- Ten seconds a lot. Any bid resets the clock; when it runs out, it is sold.
- You choose where he plays after you have won him, not before.
- The five you bought then play a simulated game that settles it.
Ways to play
- Against the computer, at four difficulties.
- Against a friend online, with a room code — or against whoever the floor is holding.
- Two players on one device, taking the paddle in turns.
- This season's league, or every era at once with each player at his peak.
Where the ratings come from
Nobody typed the numbers in. Every player's overall and six attributes are computed from the public statistical record — each stat scored against the rest of that player's own season, so a 1962 line and a 2026 line can be compared at all — with an impact anchor, role weighting, and an accolades pillar on the all-time scale.
